The rise of live-streamed child abuse – and Britain’s role in it
- It’s estimated that millions of children worldwide are being sexually abused to order via live-video streams, with the vast majority from the West.
- 1.4% of the male population has engaged in a sexually explicit webcam interaction with a child, according to research from the University of Edinburgh, equivalent to more than 450,000 men.

Discord opens up to games and apps embedded in its chat app
- Discord will soon allow developers to build new games and apps that can be used directly in its chat app, from 18th March 2024.
- Discord has used its Activities feature to enable apps such as YouTube, promote minigames and even encourage users to play with a shared whiteboard experience.
- However, this update will mean more minigames will be available to be played directly inside Discord chats.

One in eight NI pupils are marked as absent five weeks of the year
- One in eight NI pupils are missing around five weeks in total during the school year.
- The Department of Education classes chronic absence as a pupil missing between 10% and 20% of days during a school year — from 19 to 38 days.
