Apple lets Epic Games put Fortnite and game store back on iPhones in Europe 

  • Earlier this week, Apple had taken steps to block Epic from starting up a store and bringing back the popular game.
  • Apple had removed the game from its App Store in 2020 after Epic broke Apple’s in-app payment rules.
  • However, Apple have added the game back to the App Store, following the EU’s Thursday deadline for big tech companies to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

TikTok’s Reportedly Testing a New Instagram-Like ‘TikTok Photos’ App 

  • In the back-end code of the current TikTok app, there have been some references to “TikTok Photos” which have appeared.
  • It suggests that TikTok users will be prompted to share their still images to the new app, to “reach like-minded people who enjoy photo posts”.
  • TikTok has already added a “photo mode” for still images in-stream and has been urging users to post more photos lately.

  • X has announced it is changing the name of its “Trust and Safety” team to just “Safety”.
  • They stated that trust is something needed to be earned and are intentionally renaming their team.

Alexander McCartney: Catfishing abuser admits girl’s manslaughter 

  • A 25-year-old NI man who is at the centre of one of the world’s largest catfishing investigations has admitted manslaughter, after a 12-year-old girl he blackmailed took her own life in 2018.
  • He has previously admitted 185 charges involving more than 60 child victims.
  • The charges cover a period from 2013 to 2019 with victims being identified in both New Zealand and the USA.
