Child sexual abuse images crimes sees major rise
- The NSPCC have revealed across the UK, the number of child sexual abuse image crimes have reached more than 33,000 – an increase of 25% compared to 2021/22.
- The report highlighted that social media apps are frequently used in these crimes, with 44% occurring on Snapchat.

US Senators raise new push to ban TikTok
- Another group of US regulators have proposed actions against TikTok.
- The new action is aimed to “address national security concerns posed by Chinese ownership of the app”.

Instagram now lets you edit DMs up to 15 mins after sending them
- Instagram announced that it is rolling out the ability for users to edit their direct messages, for up to 15 minutes after sending them.
- Users will also get the option to pin up to three messaging threads to the top of their inbox.
- Users can now save their favourite stickers in direct messages for easy access.

Price cap on school uniform costs to be considered, says Education Minister
- Stormont’s Education Minister has warned school governors he will no longer permit them to ignore guidance on reducing uniform costs as he revealed a price cap is under consideration.
- He reported a public consultation later this spring will include the proposals.
- The minister also said he wanted to review the criteria for accessing support grants to help families with uniform costs.
